En boca de todos desde que empezó esta semana está la parte de Gelek Gonzalez para Former. La premier tuvo lugar en el mismísimo cuartel general de Petshop (no lo sabéis, pero hay cuarteles en todo el Planeta, incluso bajo el océano), pero poco después ya ha habido ese pequeño revuelo internáutico que se erigen en resaca de cualquier evento de esta naturaleza. 

La verdad, hay una entrevista que habla por ella misma y creo que aquí mis palabras sobran, y mucho. La entevista la realizó el de sobras conocido Austyn Gillette, uno de los dueños de la marca FORMER, que es la que arropa a Gelek y firma este clip que acompaña la entrevista o la entrevista que acompaña al clip, o qué sé yo, lo que sea.

Por lo que vienen siendo estas entradas de blog, por la misión que me ha sido otorgada de dedicar unas palabras a aquello que compartimos, diré que esta vez podría escribir bastante sobre esto, pues Gelek es un patinador que consideramos muy importante en la órbita de Petshop y creémos firmemente que contar con su apoyo es un lujo por muchos motivos. La calidad y el sabor de su patín dejaré que lo degustéis viendo el clip - si no lo habéis visto todavía- pero, a título más personal, destacaría que lo que más me llama la atención es su background inmenso para un patinador de su edad, esas diferencias abismales con el héroe del skatepark local de una ciudad provinciana del Mediterráneo y esa verdad contundente de que la experiencia pesa más que los años, que no solamente por ser más viejo se comprende más y que el patín abre puertas a otros muchos saberes si uno sabe arrimarse a lo bueno, a los buenos o a los sabios, da igual si son mayores o menores, de aquí o de allá. El resultado de un background sólido nunca puede ser basura. La nueva parte de Gelek es buen ejemplo de ello.

Gelek Gonzalez's part for Former has been on everyone's lips since the beginning of this week. The premiere took place at Petshop's headquarters (you don't know it, but there are headquarters all over the planet, even under the ocean), but shortly after, there has already been that small internet commotion that arises as a hangover from any event of this nature.

Honestly, there is an interview that speaks for itself, and I think my words here are unnecessary, and much so. The interview was conducted by the well-known Austyn Gillette, one of the owners of the brand FORMER, which is the one supporting Gelek and signing this clip that accompanies the interview, or the interview that accompanies the clip, or whatever it is.

From what these blog entries have been, from the mission that has been granted to me to dedicate a few words to what we share, I will say that this time I could write quite a bit about this, as Gelek is a skater that we consider very important in the orbit of Petshop and we firmly believe that having his support is a luxury for many reasons. I will let you taste the quality and flavor of his skating by watching the clip - if you haven't seen it yet - but, on a more personal note, I would highlight that what stands out to me the most is his immense background for a skater of his age, those abysmal differences with the local skatepark hero of a provincial Mediterranean city, and that resounding truth that experience weighs more than years, that not only by being older does one understand more, and that skating opens doors to many other knowledges if one knows how to lean towards the good, towards the wise, whether they are older or younger, from here or there. The result of a solid background can never be garbage. Gelek's new part is a good example of this.
